Windows 7 Shutdown Bug

Users are reporting problems shutting down, or rebooting Windows 7 after the most recent end of life updates.

Coincidence, or something else?

The current work around involves either creating a new administrator account, or editing group policies from the command line, both of which are “non-trivial” for most civilians.

The path to liberation is Linux, specifically an Ubuntu based distribution made to look, and feel like a much faster version of Windows 7.
